Rates & Fee Schedules
The following is a list of fees charged by the City of Mayflower for licensing, inspections, rentals and permits as provided for in Mayflower Municipal Codes.
None of the fees paid under this ordinance are refundable by the city of Mayflower and payment of fees does not guarantee approval or acceptance. Approval and acceptance of an application, inspection or appeal depends upon compliance with the adopted codes and regulations of the city. Fees shall be paid to the City at the time of the filing of the request or appeal. (Ord. No. 96-2, Sec. 17.)
Construction Related Permit Fees
Building Permit
- New Home – $100
- Mobile and Manufactured Homes – $100
- Additions to Existing Residence – $40 plus $1.00 per $1,000 cost
- Storage and Detached Buildings – $40 plus $1.00 per $1,000 cost
- House Moving – $125
- Commercial or Industrial Buildings – $250.00 plus $.10 per square foot.
There is a state surcharge of $.50 per $1,000.00 of estimated total cost.

City Licensing & Permit Fees
Electrical License
The City of Mayflower issues electricians an annual license to do business within the City. The fee is $25 per year per business or individual.

Inoperable Vehicle Permit
There is no fee for the inoperable vehicle permit. It is valid for three months and can be extended for an additional three months. While there is no fee, issuance of a permit, is required.

Privilege License
The City of Mayflower requires all businesses to obtain a privilege license annually to conduct business within the city. The cost is $125.

Yard Sale Permit
- Yard Sale Permit – $5 per sale per household
The yard sale permit fee shall be $5.00 per household. The permit shall be issued for a three (3) day period. The time between permits is four (4) days. Only four (4) permits per household address per year are allowed. Any person acquiring more than four (4) permits will be considered a business.

All other Code Inspection Fees
The Building Code Inspection fee shall be Thirty Dollars ($30.00) per visit whether by the Fire Marshal Mayflower of the Fire Department, as required for fire prevention, or by the Code Enforcement Officer, relating to all other adopted codes.

Billboard building permit, one-time fee, is seventy-five dollars ($75.00)
Annual Billboard Permit
Purpose
The purpose of the annual permit fee is to offset the cost to the City of Mayflower of enforcement of this chapter and should not be construed as a charge for the privilege of.
General administrative
Annual billboard permit fees will be for the period January 1 through December 31 (annually).
Billboard owners will be required to apply and pay annual permit fees to the City of Mayflower Permit Office not later than January 1 of each year.
Annual permit fees for billboards within the Mayflower City limits will be one hundred twenty-five dollars ($125.00) annually per panel for billboards larger than four feet by eight feet. Any billboard four feet by eight feet or smaller will incur an annual permit fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
